Arannews-Samir Hasanov was detained in Shaki on 30 April, according to Nuraddin Mammadli, one of the leaders of the Azerbaijan Popular Front Party (APFP). Hasanov is the chairman of the Youth Committee of APFP's Shaki chapter"The young man was riding a motorbike when he was detained. Activists from Sheki have told me that the police accuse him of loudly cursing while driving," Nuraddin Mammadli told Caucasian Knot's correspondent. The politician called the accusation ridiculous. "Samir Hasanov is a well-bred young man, and he does not ride a motorcycle for fun," the politician noted.Mammadli believes Hasanov may have been detained for a Facebook post from 28 April, wishing Ali Kerimli, the leader of the PFPA, a happy birthday."Apparently, the authorities decided not to mention the opposition at all," Mammadli saidMeydan TV contacted the Shaki regional police department but was unable to get a statement.Samir Hasanov has been arrested before.
